The table below makes two important points about the socio-economic profile of the Borough.
The first is familiar : Rotherham experiences very high levels of deprivation and is amongst the least advantaged of the Statistical Neighbour group used by DCSF to contextualise schools and LA performance. Just as important, and less often commented upon, is what might be termed the "affluence indicator", i.e. we have very few children living in advantaged households, even fewer than the Statistical Neighbours who share our deprivation profile. This provides an interesting perspective on the overall composition of the school population across the Borough.
