The Rotherham Katie Morag event encourages the use of ICT in imaginative and innovative ways to support teaching and learning.

The Rotherham ICT Curriculum Support Team have provided some starter resources and ideas to promote productive cross curricular and creative use of ICT on a CD Rom. This was sent out to interested schools. It is hoped that schools will pick up from the event suggestions and ideas for activities relating to Katie Morag.

The 2005 event came with an additional Video Conferencing element. Five schools were given Video Conferencing equipment to enable and encourage the children to ask questions to Granma Mainland and Grannie Island. We also maintained the previous years' email addresses for Katie Morag, Grannie Island and Granma Mainland.

If you would like to share any additional activities that took place in your school with us and other schools please email us at ictcurriculum@rgfl.org and we will include it on this Web page.

The link below provides lots of activities using software including Textease, Word and Smart Notebook. Please feel free to copy any of the files, use the ideas, adapt them and create new ones using any other software you feel suitable.
