The Rotherham Charter for Workforce Development is a quality mark initiative, designed to build on the excellent work already undertaken by schools supported by the Workforce Development team.

The Charter offers schools a clear template of good practice in workforce development, which will support both self assessment and external judgements by Ofsted, Investors in People, etc. The Charter materials are free to Rotherham schools, as is the process of pledging commitment to the charter principles.Schools which pledge will receive both a Charter certificate and logo for use in school documentation.

The Charter initiative also includes a formal accreditation process, which we hope many schools will choose to opt into. This is not a requirement of holding charter status, and schools may decide their own timescale towards accreditation. Formal ‘accreditation’ against the Charter standards will involve a charge to schools, but includes consultancy support, and the award of an ‘ Accredited Charter School ’ certificate and logo for school’s use.

For more information on the Charter please contact a member of the Workforce Development team.
