Cyber bullying can be defined as 'the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), particularly mobile phones and the internet, deliberately to upset someone else'.

It is really just an extension of what we know of as bullying. Simply by not acting, and being a bystander to the act, people can be seen as being involved and condoning the way the bully is treating the victim. With some of incidents of ‘normal’ bullying, the victim can get respite from.

Many children and adults are victims of cyber bullying. In many cases it is seen as a harmless activity or as a joke by those who are the ‘bully’. However to the recipient, it can be relentless barrage which continues even when away from school and the bully.
