The painting selected for our 'Picture This!' project was then introduced by Karen Hosack. It is St. George and the Dragon by Paolo Uccello and has been chosen as it will provide a wonderful stimulus for cross-curricular work in our classrooms in Primary and Special schools throughout 2007-08.

During the coffee break that followed, delegates were able to look closely at some work that had been done by children at Wentworth C of E J&I and Willow Primary School in Doncaster in response to previous paintings from the 'Take One Picture' project.

The final session was led again by Karen Hosack and delegates worked around tables in groups of 4-8 sharing their initial ideas about how the painting might be used in their classrooms. Their planning notes were recorded on large pieces of paper and these were later typed out and emailed to all particating schools.

At the end of the day, each school was given a 'goodie bag' containing a DVD, sets of teacher's notes, planning information, multiple copies of the print (A3 and A4) as well as two wallposter prints of the painting. Delegates at the Launch Event were asked whether a follow-up day of arts-based workshop linked to 'St. George and the Dragon' would be useful. There was overwhelming support for this idea and so a day of workshops was arranged to be held at Rockingham Professional Development Centre on 24th October 2007.
