Did you take part in Science Week 2005?
Would you like to be part of Science week 2006?
Are you looking for ideas to promote creativity in cross curricular use of ICT?
Are you looking for exciting and interesting ways to promote scientific enquiry in your classroom?
Then join the Rotherham Curriculum ICT Support Team in a week long investigation with online activities and stimulating cross curricular events led by the Science Detective.
The week involves two sets of activities, one for Year 2 pupils, and one for Year 6. The activities can be accessed by alternative year groups and are intended to last approximately an hour a day.
A crime has been committed; pupils are provided with a database of possible villains and have to carry out a series of events to eliminate suspects.
Activities include the use of internet investigation, ICT based presentation and e-mail enquiry with opportunity for conversation with the
Science Detective himself! There are opportunities for the use of digital microscopes and for interested schools, a chance to be part of a video conferencing session. The week is totally planned, although there is scope for expansion and creativity within the scheme.
